The difference between LCD and OLED

OLED is the organic light-emitting diode Organic Light-Emitting Diode English abbreviation.
And liquid crystal display(Liquid Crystal Display, LCD) is a different type of light-emitting
principle. Organic light-emitting diodes can be divided into monochrome, colorful and full color
and other types, including full-color organic light-emitting diode preparation of the most difficult;
according to the drive can be divided into passive (Passive Matrix, PMOLED)
and active (Active Matrix, AMOLED ).

Advantages of the OLED itself and its difference with the LCD (LED / LCD) is different in the
following:

1. Brightness, visibility and energy consumption
OLED characteristics are their own light, do not need backlight, is the use of light-emitting diode
array. So the visibility and brightness are high, and the voltage requirements are low and the
power saving efficiency is high.

2. Contrast
OLED can produce better contrast effects, while no blooming.

3. Resolution
OLED active drive no duty cycle problem, the drive is not limited by the number of scanning
electrodes, easy to achieve high brightness and high resolution. Active Drives Due to the ability
to independently adjust the brightness of the red and blue pixels, this is more conducive to
OLED colorization.

4. Refresh rate
OLED has a very high response speed, so it has a higher than the LCD screen refresh rate
and motion blur.

5. Image quality
LCD TV Whether it is response time, high dynamic range (HDR), color gamut and other technical
indicators can not be compared with the OLED TV. LCD and OLED TV are not a technical grade
product. LCD in front of the OLED screen comparison, the LCD is a haze.

6. Life
The current life of OLED as LCD, temporarily unable to match.
